If you’re looking for something a little different ahead of the eclipse, check out Gardenfest in early April. Each year the Purdue Master Gardeners – Boone County hold this event at the Boone County Fairgrounds. This is the perfect opportunity to get excited about your gardening projects for the coming year! This is a free event and features vendor booths, door prizes, a garden café, soil pH testing, kids’ activities and Q&A opportunities. Three garden experts speak on topics of interest.

Heart of Lebanon is partnering with the Witham YMCA to feature a Sweating to the 80s class during their weekend of festivities leading up to the eclipse. This family friendly FUN workout class takes place in the Memorial Hall gymnasium and spots are limited. Each ticket will come with a commemorative Eclipse sweatband. So, dust off those short shorts and neon leotards and let’s get moving!
Visit Lebanon, Indiana during Eclipse 2024 weekend, and take part in a fun 5k/10k run/walk! Since Lebanon, as well as other communities within Boone County are in the path of totality, there will be fun events taking place throughout the weekend leading up to the eclipse on Monday, April 8th.
The night before the Solar Eclipse, the Boone 4H Fairgrounds will come alive with a spectacular laser light show set to the powerful music of Pink Droyd, the Midwest’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band! The Jamestown Community Partnership and other Jamestown organizations are coming together to celebrate a rare event, a full solar eclipse and Jamestown is in the path of totality. There will be activities such as glow-in-the-dark kickball, face painting, to glowing, flying objects launched into the sky. Eclipse glasses will be provided to all attendees to view this once in a lifetime event that has not happened in central Indiana for over 800 years!

Advance is ready to come together for an Eclipse celebration like no other! Hosting a thrilling Murder Mystery lunch, “Death of the Sun”, you’re sure to experience plenty of excitement and intrigue as you enjoy a four course meal served by Jawbone BBQ. The Heart of Lebanon will be hosting a free 80’s concert in downtown Lebanon during the Total Eclipse in the Heart- Lebanon, Indiana event! From 10am to 5pm, explore the vendor fair and test your skills from 12-2pm at the Rubik’s Cube Scramble. The concert will go from 1-4pm and feature an 80’s look-alike contest along with food and drinks. Make sure you and your crew have the best spot in town to watch the Total Eclipse in the Heart by reserving a 12′ x 16′ space, relax, and have some fun as you await the main event.

Lace-up your running (or walking) shoes for the third-annual Battle of the Badges 5K on Saturday, April 20. This year, the race will begin and end at 345 S Bowers St. (in the parking lot). Participants will be racing through Legacy Core and the Big 4 Linear Trail.

In this one-hour dance performance, audience members will follow Alice through the Rabbit hole as she meets all her favorite friends and finds herself in a new world. An engaging and exciting performance for all ages, this shortened retelling of the well-known book, movie, and ballet is sure to delight. Tickets are general admission. Make sure to stop in the lobby before or after the show to pick up some flowers, snap a picture in the photo booth, and more. A cookie reception in the commons will follow the Sunday performance in celebration of Mother’s Day.

This annual Native American cultural event is centered on education and community involvement. The event will have speakers who will be speaking on Native cultural history as well as current modern Native lifestyle. There will also be Native singing,
dancing, and crafts. Military and militia units will be camping in the park to teach the public about the life a soldier with battle reenactments scheduled over the weekend. They also have jugglers, street performers, magic, and musical entertainment to enjoy as you eat food and dive into the past.
